Switch 2 sold 3.82M during Q1 (down -34.36% YoY from launch month)
Switch 2 has reached 23.68M units LTD
Switch 1 sold 0.66M units during Q1 (-32.65% YoY)
Switch 1 has sold 156.59M LTD sales
I think OG Switch did well during Q1. 660K units isn’t bad at all. If Nintendo can keep the shipments at a 500k - 600k clip each quarter, the Switch will most definitely outsell the PS2 in due time. The recent price increases make the climb a lot tougher but it’s more than doable. Nintendo only has to ship 1.34m OG Switch units to meet its FY goal. I think they will exceed it.
Switch 2 shooting out of the gate with north of 20+ million units in it’s first fiscal year is a massive success. The real test begins now though…. Nintendo has increased the price of Switch 2 (and OG Switch) and it will be interesting to see how the market responds. We won’t see Switch price increase numbers until next year when we get Q3 results. Nintendo has not increased its 16.5m Switch 2 forecast. Despite that forecast, I think Nintendo is lowballing - especially with rumblings of 20 million units being shipped.
